Who We Are
DNfC – dedicated to promoting diversity in Cornwall.
The Diversity Network for Cornwall and The Isles of Scilly is a registered charity and works as an umbrella organisation for Equality and Diversity groups in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
We work hand-in-hand with Victim Support Cornwall, Devon and Cornwall Police, Faith Forum, Inclusion Cornwall, FFLAG, Unity Cornwall, Intercom Trust, CREC, Cornwall Deaf Association, Cornwall Council and many other voluntary and statutory organisations to promote and support the development of a strategic, pro-active approach to Equality and Diversity issues in Cornwall.
We also work directly to tackle the most challenging diversity and equality issues in Cornwall, such as racial harassment, discrimination, migrant workers’ issues, human trafficking, forced marriage and crimes of honour, and FGM (female genital mutilation).
We believe that only by educating the community through the provision of real information can discriminatory behaviour be changed. We offer advice and guidance to front-line staff, schools (children and staff), and other service providers. We are also there to assist people in need on a one-to-one basis. So our work is real, and targeted at empowering individuals and engendering change in the community.
We are passionate about our work, and believe that the best award for your work is putting a smile back on the face of someone who has been the victim of discrimination, bigotry and narrow-mindedness.
A fairer society for all those who have been discriminated against and abused, an appreciation of how small changes in attitude can make a big difference, and a better self-image for Cornwall.
